Walking down the street heading to Gino's East, we noticed a movie was being filmed...

Linsey spent much of his time wandering the cafe wirelessly wooing women (oh, the illiteration!) with his savory solos and rugged riffs (yes, you can stop crying now, oh English teachers).

While at Andy's, we saw a talented and amusing guitarist, Linsey Alexander.

e and I are currently in Chicago for our first supercool vacation. Over the next couple days, I'll post a few pics from my phone as we go. These first are from a neat Jazz club we went to last night.

I don't usually talk about ... much ... and certainly not political things.  However, I thought this'd be of particular interest to most of ya'll.

It allows exceptions for companies to utilize spyware [CC] for any number of reasons; if this bill had been law when Sony distributed their rootkit, they would have had perfect cover. Most troubling is that the bill would preempt all state laws, including those more focused on the privacy of people's data, and disallow individuals from bringing suit. It is expected to pass soon with 'strong bipartisan support.'"

If privacy on your computer is important to you (or even just annoying popups and spyware), you might want to write your house ... person (http://www.house.gov/writerep/), suggesting some changes.  Especially if you're in Ann Arbor, it'd be good, since it's our Congressman Dingell who is the head of the committee supporting this bill (http://energycommerce.house.gov/Press_110/110nr27.shtml)

IANAL, but I've sent him a letter with the troublesome parts and some proposed changes that you can view here.

I haven't posted in a decade (okay, maybe not quite that long), but I was sitting here programming and realized that it'd be a crime not to tell ya'll about Sigur Rós, the band that has become my programming (and a bit of general listing) soundtrack.

These guys hail from Iceland, are most closely described as "Post Rock," and sing entirely in either Islandic or "Hopelandic," a language that is composed entirely of vocalizations.
If that doesn't intrigue you already ... the lead guitarist plays his electric guitar primarily with a cello bow ...

If you haven't heard them before -- keep your mind open and give them a go -- you might just find something amazing.

They have free (complete -- including the song I'm currently listening to, Ágætis Byrjun) downloads available at Amazon and also at their official fansite, Eighteen Seconds Before Sunrise. There are ~22 songs in all ... quite a nice picking as far as bands go for allowing "free samples," and the way that I got introduced to the band (yes, music labels, you should listen to this ;) ).

Today, WoW goes into open beta. I'm still tryin to download this thing ... it's ... 2.4gig ... and ... TORRENT. -.-

I'll probably be playing sometime tomorrow.
Anyway, also ... Firefox 1.0 Final is out! YAY for Firefox. :)

I mentioned the new version of Trillian in the last post ... I found out that you can download the Alpha that, as I understand, has both the free and pro versions in it. It's fairly stable, so worth checking out here.

In other news, PT is going to have another update ... =o

Thought I'd put a quick update, since I was reminded today that I've been ... hmm ... not updating =p

I've still been playin' PT, and we picked up Guild Wars preorders last night. Guild Wars is a lot of fun, so eleme and I will prolly be playin that -- at least on Beta Weekends. :)

In further news, I'm getting my wedding ring back again soon ... I had lost it down at King's Island shortly after our wedding :/ Anyway! I'm getting another one!!

Oo! and!! and!! I got a new Cell Phone! whoo -- it's this one: Sony Ericsson T610

I'd wanted one with Bluetooth for a long time, so I could use it with my Clie, and since we made our cell acct separate from my mom's, it was the perfect opportunity to get a good deal on one. :)

hmm ... what else ...

Married life is going well, and Trillian has a promising new version coming out soon. I have the alpha, and it looks great!! It also looks like they're going to make a *major* update to free Trillian -- something it's needed for a very long time. :)

Hey Everyone,
I know it's been forever since I've updated, so I decided I'd post something quick. eleme and I are looking at a tentative date of July 10th for our wedding this year. Plans are coming -- albeit slowly for that.

I've decided not to take classes this semester, but will hopefully be taking them next semester. I still have last semester's Spanish class to finish, but I'm hoping that won't be *too* difficult. :)

I've been playing PristonTale a lot more recently, and it's been fun to have people to spend time with when my friends or eleme are not able to be with me. It's fun to be able to relax and forget about the pain there. During the past week, especially, it's been fun because eleme has had the week of classes for spring break. :) For anyone who's interested, my name in game is "Malkana."

In Anime news, I've begun to watch "Jungle" and E's Otherwise and am enjoying them muchly. I also purchased the last Haibane Renmei today, and am looking forward to seeing how that will finish. :)

Anyhoo, I think that's all I will post for now, or else I'll wait and not post ... lol

Hello everyone, everywhere! :)

On Saturday night, I asked eleme to marry me, and she said "YES!!!"
Before I asked her, I played her our special song (that I wrote/He gave me). It was muy happy.

So, I am now engaged! It's a very exciting thing. We hope to get married this summer, if everything works out. We need to talk a bit to our parents 'cause they're worried about us finishing college/etc, but I think in the end things will work out. Love you, hun. :) Looking forward to being with you all the time.
